Although this story started when I was very young, it’s only now that I’m deciding to follow a path to see how far I get. I was born as a ‘biological male’, but my gender has never matched that. While my birth sex was male, my gender and identity is female. I didn’t choose this, and in fact choice is very little to do with it – I know who I am, and this blog is my, often faltering, story of my journey just to be myself.

The blog title, ‘I’m Not Broken’, comes from the song Hello, by Evanescence; ’…don’t try to fix me, I’m not broken…’ and is a message to myself. I’m not broken and I won’t be broken…
